Hawaii crypto ATM ban to take effect on Oct. 1

Hawaii will join Minnesota, Tennessee and Indiana in becoming the fourth US state to completely ban the use of cryptocurrency ATMs and kiosks in response to scams.

Zcash activated its Ironwood upgrade at block 3,428,143, sealing its Orchard shielded pool holding 3.66 million ZEC worth $1.7 billion. The move follows the discovery of an undetected four-year counterfeiting bug in Orchard. The Ironwood upgrade introduces a turnstile mechanism capping total withdrawals at verified deposit amounts, preventing fake tokens from escaping.
